Following a link from where Clint Eastwood's picture was, I had the pleasure of reading Mr. Eastwood's Biography.
It brought back an old memory of my husband, Pete. When his daughter Marianne was a little girl, she was Rowdy Yates' biggest fan.
Clint Eastwood got his breakthrough at the end of the 50's decade with the TV series Rawhide, where he was a cast member for six years. As Rowdy Yates, he made the show his own and became a household name around the country.
Pete, his wife, Mary, their son, Kevin, and daughter Marianne spotted Clint Eastwood in a restaurant (can't remember where it was, Las Vegas, California, I'm not sure) but Marianne would not sit still, and kept saying, "Rowdy Yates! It's Rowdy Yates!"
Finally, her dad took her up to meet him, and he was very gracious, indeed. I believed he even autographed something for Marianne.
I also am quite glad to see that although Clint Eastwood would not be likely to act again, he will continue to direct films.
